My focus is optimization problems in logistics arising from real-world industrial settings. Within my PhD, I primarily concentrate on vehicle routing problems from practice in cooperation with the freight transportation company Wereldo. I aim to improve the practical applicability of algorithmically obtained routing plans while keeping the generality and scalability of well-established algorithms. I also participate in research on optimizing large-scale warehouses in cooperation with the company Notino.
Regarding methods, I primarily use heuristic search algorithms, particularly metaheuristic approaches.
